Facebook Like Button: How To Add Like Button To WordPress

This is the easiest way to get Facebook on your website. To install the Facebook Like button on your site all you need is a Facebook developers account (which is free) and then grab the code on this page:

You can customize the Like button and the preview updates in real time. Once you’re happy with how it looks you can click the “Get Code” button and then it’s just copy and paste.

Choose the code for either HTML5, XFBML, iFrame or URL and then follow the instructions above the Facebook button code boxes to embed the Facebook Like button properly.

Now you’ve installed the latest in social media marketing on your website.

  3. did what you showed and now I have a facebook button showing everywhere in the site (all pages including home blog etc) And next to it there is another button that says my site.
    Help please

  4. My website was made with WordPress 4.3.1. I did exactly what the tutorial said, but doesn't work, the Like button and the Share button do not appear on any page . Perhaps that is because of the theme (SunRain) or the plugin Wpdevart Facebook Comments?

  5. @EatingOut WithAGirl You have to do both of the steps that you listed.  It should be the same process. Use a code insert plugin to put the the Javascript SDK after the opening body tag.  You can also do this via a child theme.  Then put the plugin code wherever you want the Like button to appear. It would be best inside a template file so you don't have to repeat yourself.

  6. hello, can you please explain how to do this with the new version of the fb like box?
it doesn't list the same items as you're describing. can't figure out how to do it. 🙁

    1. Include the JavaScript SDK on your page once, ideally right after the opening <body> tag.
    2. Place the code for your plugin wherever you want the plugin to appear on your page.
    These are the only options.

    Thank you.
